Today I added a very basic auction feature here on the main Jigup site. Any member can bid and post auctions. So why not join up and give it a try?

The log in here at the main Jigup site is different to the forums log in, so two seperate accounts are required for each area. If you are a member of the forum, then use the same ID and password when joining here jigup.com. I have tried to combine the two user accounts so only one log in is required. It may be a little buggy but should work as long as your ID and password for the forum and here are identical.

The auction submission are very basic and you will need to have your own pictures hosted elsewhere (at photobucket for instance)  but its free to post an auction so you haven’t really anything to lose, have you!

If you give it a try then good luck but please keep it clean and legal.

If you’ve had a little too much to drink and find yourself down and out and in need of a  snooze, don’t try and sleep on a bunch of clothes donations that have been left outside a charity shop as it may gradually get less comfortable as “well to do” passers by take their pick of the clothes you’re sleeping on!

The classifieds have now been removed and I’m toying with the idea of installing an auction script based on the old PHP Auction platform (modified). Is it worth the bother though? It’s quite simple to install and operate but would anyone join to list let alone buy? Are auctions dead? Perhaps there’s a need for some other kind of system? If anyone would like to comment please do. Anyhow, watch out for an auction option, it’ll be testing in Beta soon and  live and free to both buy and sell.

I’ve just added more categories to the classifieds ads section. No ads yet! Well I haven’t bothered listing any myself but anyone can list and I’ll get round to listing something myself soon, possibly a comic or two, of the twenty odd thousand I have that are currently causing my house to subside. No kidding I actually had a builder tell me that the crack in the wall extending down from the ceiling was due to the ten boxes of comics I had on my shelf! Well, he was an idiot but I’ve got to get rid of them anyway, so watch this space.

If you’d like to sell something on the classified ads page then don’t wait for me to get my rear into gear, go ahead, what you waiting for, it’s free so there’s nothing to lose? What’s going to be the first listing? You might even make history (ha ha). No illegal items, sexual services or scams will be published.
